Code of Conduct for the Payment Card Industry in Canada

About the Code

DashQ is operated by Digirealty Technologies Inc. When you accept credit or debit card payments through DashQ, we act as a Downstream Participant under the Code of Conduct for the Payment Card Industry in Canada (the Code). Card payments made through DashQ are processed by our acquirer, Paysafe Merchant Services Inc.

The Code is overseen by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC). It gives merchants greater transparency into what card acceptance costs, more flexibility in how they price, and the freedom to choose which payment options they accept.

You can read the full Code on the Government of Canada website: Code of Conduct for the Payment Card Industry in Canada

You can also read a plain-language summary of your rights as a merchant: Merchant rights under the Code

Filing a complaint

If you believe your rights under the Code have not been respected, you can file a complaint with us.

This process is for Code-related complaints from merchants — that is, from property management operators who use DashQ to accept card payments. If you are a resident or applicant with a question about a payment you made, please contact your property manager or our general support team.

By email info@dashq.io — please include "Code of Conduct complaint" in the subject line so we can route it correctly.

By mail Digirealty Technologies Inc. Attention: Code of Conduct Compliance 290 City Centre Avenue Ottawa, ON K1R 1C7 Canada

To help us investigate, please include:

  • Your company name and the property or portfolio affected
  • Your name and how to reach you
  • What happened, and when
  • What outcome you are looking for

What happens next

Within 5 business days — we will acknowledge that we have received your complaint and give you a reference number.

Within 20 business days — we will complete our investigation and send you a final response in writing. It will include:

  • A summary of your complaint as we understood it
  • The outcome of our investigation
  • An explanation of our decision, including our reasons if we do not uphold the complaint
  • Any action we are taking as a result
  • How to escalate further if you are not satisfied

If we cannot give you a final response within 20 business days, we will tell you before that deadline, explain why, and let you know when to expect our response.

You can ask us for an update at any point by replying to any of our correspondence about your complaint.

If you are not satisfied

If you are not satisfied with our final response, you can escalate your complaint. You do not have to wait for us to finish our investigation, and using our process does not affect your right to go elsewhere.

Our acquirer — Paysafe Merchant Services Inc. publishes its own Code of Conduct complaint process at paysafe.com/ca-en/code-of-conduct

The payment card networks — Visa Canada and Mastercard Canada each accept Code-related complaints directly. Contact details are published on their websites.

The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada — the FCAC oversees the Code and provides information on the complaint-handling process. See Complaint-handling under the Code

You may also raise a complaint directly with the sponsoring financial institution behind your card processing arrangement.
